A chronicle of one American's quiet rage through a decade of Republican excesses and abuses of power at home and abroad

I am D. Grant Haynes and my news of note is the publication of a first work--a non-fiction book titled, The Neocon Aberration.

The book, which is being done by Trafford Publishing of Victoria, BC, Canada, and can serve as a stocking stuffer this holiday season.

My book is a 6X9 paperback consisting of 262 pages divided unequally into 11 chapters.

Unequally, because fully half of the work is devoted to attacks on George W. Bush and his illegitimate presidency which has, in my opinion, almost wrecked the United States of America.

I am frankly and unabashedly a wild-eyed American liberal. My book consists of essays taken from ten years of my writings for newspapers, progressive blog sites, and in some instances, my personal web sites.

My book cover blurb more or less encapsulates my opinion of Bush, his neocon advisors, and their effect on my nation since December 2000.

"From his crass and cynical use of 911 to garner support for neocon agendas that had been set well before he came to office--to his unilateral withdrawal from an ABM treaty that had preserved the peace between nuclear powers for a third of a century--to his unprecedented tax breaks for his constituency of wealth and privilege--to his assault on Social Security--to his present stubborn refusal to get out of the Iraq quagmire before more lives are needlessly sacrificed on the alter of corporate capitalism's failed power grab there--George Walker Bush has done nothing right and more that is wrong and dangerous for the United States of America and the world than any U.S. president in the history of the nation.

"In truth, I cannot recall anything good or helpful that Bush has done for this nation or the world since he was appointed to an office he never won by five activist Supreme Court judges in December 2000. The inherent wrongness of that judicial fiat has been demonstrated a thousand times over during the intervening years as we have seen our nation dragged to depths of confused depravity many of us would not have believed possible had we not watched it occur."

Other chapters are devoted to the environment, animal rights, gun control, capital punishment, Bill Clinton, and, in closing, a brief foray into my esoteric belief system.
